The natural manufacturing process for these insoles has not changed since the Egyptians developed it. Dating back to ancient Egypt, this vegetal tanning technique transforms a raw skin into a supple, strong and rot-proof material called "leather" by soaking the skins in containers with tannins extracted from oak, birch, willow, mimosa...bark or exotic wood bark which adds resistance against parasites.
Next to better parasites resistance, this tanning process confers a more alive aspect to leather as well as its pleasant leather smell, helps it acquire an elegant patina during its long life and offers a comfort synonym with hygiene.
